Our fleet of cranes comprise Liebherr and Terex Demag all terrain mobile cranes of 55 and 60-ton capacity. The latest addition an LTM1060-3.1 Liebherr has a main boom of 48m with a full fly of 16m giving a total tip height of 64m.
Our lifting team are all CPCS carded and have a wealth of experience and include appointed persons, lift supervisors and slinger signallers.
Any lift must be planned by a qualified and experienced appointed person who will plan and take responsibility for the lift.
All Legitimate crane hire companies work to the CPA terms and conditions and in accordance with BS7127 –Safe use of cranes and as such Rodger(Builders) Ltd offer crane hire on a CPA basis or a CPA Contract lift basis.
The differences between a hire and a contract lift are based on the respective responsibilities of the client and the crane hire company.
The crane hire company will visit the site, determine what size of crane is required, establish task specific hazards, look at access and egress for the crane, provide a quotation, lift plan, method statement, insurance and in general provide a “turnkey” solution.
When a client simply hires a crane, he assumes responsibility for getting the crane from public highway to the site, the lift plan, method statement, insurance, provision of suitably qualified and trained slinger signaller and lift supervisor. He is his own appointed person.
The simple hire option is less expensive than the contract lift option but should only be undertaken by those who are competent in the planning and prosecution of a lifting operation. A lift plan and method statement together with proof of competence in slinging and lift supervision will need to be provided at the outset of a simple hire prior to starting the task.
We will never put a crane on a site we have not checked if only to ensure that there is adequate access to the site.
Our cranes travel throughout the Scottish Borders, to as far South as Wooler, and North into Edinburgh and East to Berwick upon Tweed.
